The fight against the Mafia

What do you know about the Mafia?

Well… any idea you’ve been up to now, it’s time to understand something really important: not the Mafia, but the fight against the Mafia is a fundamental part of the life of the city today!

Visit the places where thousands of students from all over Italy meet each year in May, to remember the great massacres of 1992 in which the judges Falcone and Borsellino lost their lives.

Visit the shops and craft workshops “ALAB”, a new generation of young merchants who is giving new life and opportunity to trade in the historic center.

Let your children play at Piazza Magione on the swings and slides given to elementary schools in the Kalsa district. from “Addio Pizzo”, the most important anti-racket association.

The mafia is a human phenomenon and like all human phenomena it has a principle, its evolution and will therefore also have an end

1. Is safe to cycle in Palermo?

Apart from few exceptions where you have to pay attention, cycling-pedestrian tracks with no cars or turist buses is safe. Helmet is not compulsory in Italy, but it’s a good choice for a safer cycling experience and for respect of all those cyclist who are used to wearing it. If you decide to have a guided bike tour, your tour leader will certainly make you follow only safe paths, even out of the city.

Historics buildings and museums are normally forbidden to cyclists with their conventional bicycles, but there are rack in front of the entrances of almost all major sites ofminterest, including the gardens. A good bike chain will always be necesssary to keep your bike safe

Palermo’s climate is absolutely great. it hardly ever rains, and shoul it happend..it would be a good excuse to stop at a good cafè!

YES! It’s great a gret experience for theme. Tricycles, adult tandems, or bikes with training wheels for adults or children are available at my friends rental shop “SICICLA“.
